Interoperability Symposium

July 5

The Africa Prosperity Network (APN) is organising a flagship event on 5 July 2024 at Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra, Ghana, focusing on advancing mobile money interoperability across Africa.

This event, held in collaboration with the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat and under the patronage of the President of Ghana, aims to address and promote strategies to enhance intra-African trade and financial inclusion through mobile money interoperability.

The symposium will feature presentations from key policymakers and industry experts, a plenary session, breakout sessions, a panel discussion, and networking opportunities, aimed at sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration among stakeholders to advance mobile money interoperability.

The APN, inspired by Ghana’s leadership in mobile money interoperability, calls for a robust regulatory framework and coordinated efforts at national, regional, and
continental levels. By implementing interoperable digital payment systems, Africa can unlock its economic potential, fostering prosperity and establishing its position on the global stage.

Africa Prosperity Network (APN) is a private not-for-profit organization that has been established with a vision to promote Africa beyond aid.

The objective is to create platforms for holding dialogues that will reshape the thinking of African
leaders while guiding them into taking bold steps that speak to accelerated prosperity across the
continent. In this regard, trade, commerce, the structure of our national economies, political conduct, and our culture matter.
Our approach is to mobilise African leaders, both in politics and business, and help build partnerships that will reshape the principles and policies required to ensure that we place the people of Africa first.
Therefore, it is of the essence that we work towards the upliftment of the continent's standard of living, by creating an Africa conversation by Africans and for Africa in the context of the challenges and opportunities peculiar to the continent.
