This is aimed at driving the rapid development of the continent through dialogues and consensus building on issues of trade, commerce and strengthening of African economies.

APN’s LEVERAGE

APN has a three-fold leverage:

A strong partnership with credible institutions who believe in APN’s core business and continue to support our work. Such institutions include the African Union, African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Secretariat, the Presidency of the Republic of Ghana, the African Development Bank (AfDB), Afreximbank, African Union (AU), and regional economic blocs (ECOWAS, SADC, EAC, ECCAS, COMESA, AMU, CEN-SAD, and IGAD).

Seasoned leadership (Advisory board and APN Managing board) with diverse wealth of experience, drawn across Africa and Global Africa, who appreciate sectorial policy dialogue, the politics, and socioeconomic context of Africa’s economy.

A network of individuals, state institutions, and organizations with capacity to complement APN’s work

Africa Prosperity Dialogues

The Africa Prosperity Dialogues series offer a strategic platform where the movers and shakers of the African economy elevate the economic integration objectives from ambitions to real actions. Set in the beautiful hills of Aburi in Eastern Region of Ghana, the APD is a one-of-a-kind event where African leaders from diverse areas of Continental endeavour gather each year to expedite, among other things, the implementation of the agreed initiatives within the AfCFTA trade bloc, and shape the Africa Agenda for Action. APD brings into practical focus, the continent’s critical challenges and industrialisation priorities and advance aggressively the commercial and infrastructural interventions to achieve the vision of an Africa Beyond Aid.

The APD is an annual conference held every January. It is a summit of the highest political and business decision makers in Africa, supported by various leaders, who propose practical, actionable initiatives to enhance trade in Africa and create prosperity for Africans. Transforming Africa's Economy: Charting the Course for Seamless Communication and Financial Transactions Across Borders

In the first quarter of 2024, the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa  Akufo-Addo called on his peers at the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of  State and Government of the African Union to drive the acceleration on advancing mobile  interoperability to facilitate intra-African trade. This stems from the outcome of the Africa  Prosperity Dialogues (APD) 2024 Peduase Action Compact that saw both political leaders  and eminent business leaders present, committing to advance mobile interoperability across  the continent to deepen financial inclusion and intra-African trade. The drive for  interoperability is a call to action for policymakers, industry leaders, and stakeholders to join  forces. Together, through collaboration and shared vision, we aim to build an interconnected  African economy, ensuring that the continent’s full economic potential is realised and its  place on the global stage is firmly established.
